App promotion cost in India: compare installs and useful users

App promotion can be priced as a fixed package or measured by cost per install, usually called CPI. Neither number tells you how many users will return, finish onboarding or become paying customers. Decide which outcome matters before choosing a promotion budget.

The supplier currently lists worldwide app-install offers and an India-labelled offer. Their minimums differ: one worldwide listing starts at 1,000, while the other worldwide and Indian listings start at 5,000. A single “starting price” would conceal those conditions, and a verified SocialMint retail quote is not available in this draft.

Work out the unit you are buying

CPI is campaign cost divided by attributed installs. As an illustration only, spending ₹5,000 for 1,000 attributed installs gives a ₹5 CPI. If 100 of those users return on your chosen measurement day, cost per returning user is ₹50. These are hypothetical figures, not a market benchmark or SocialMint offer.

Google Ads distinguishes install-focused bidding from bidding for in-app actions. A target CPI is a campaign target, not an unconditional delivery guarantee. Google's app-campaign bidding guide

Ask for evidence of the delivery method

A product name containing Google Ads or AdWords is not a campaign report. Ask how the promotion is run, which geography is selected, how installs are attributed and what evidence you receive after delivery.

Confirm the app store and operating system. Android and iOS should not be treated as interchangeable because the word “app” appears in the name. Also establish whether the app must be free, publicly available in the target country and already approved by its store.

A useful brief for an Indian app

Provide the store URL, supported country/language, onboarding goal and the action that matters after installation. For example, a booking app may care about a completed booking more than a download. Record the attribution window and decide how duplicate or invalid installs will be handled before comparing offers.

Separate advertising spend, setup costs and service fees in the quote. Ask whether taxes or additional creative work are included; do not infer them from a headline rate.

Use the service catalog to request the exact offer, and keep website traffic separate from app installs in your comparison.

Frequently asked questions

Do installs guarantee an app-store ranking improvement?

No such result is established by the listing.

Is the lowest CPI always better?

Not if it brings users who do not complete the action the app needs.

Can I order 1,000 India-targeted installs from the selected Indian offer?

Its listed minimum is 5,000; obtain a different confirmed offer for a smaller request.
